EATING OUT
There are many excellent pubs and restaurants nearby many with AA rosettes. Here are a selection, all of them would need to be booked in advance if a large number of you wish to eat. The nearest country pubs are the Crown at Burston and the Crown at Gissing. Diss is 2 miles away.
The Burston Crown, Burston 01379 741257
Lovely country pub with cosy lounge bar, separate public bar with pool table and separate dining room. Beer garden open in the summer. They offer a varied and reasonably priced menu.
The Saracens Head, Diss 01379 652853
An old timber building in the town of Diss. Very good traditional pub food - steaks, lasagne etc. The landlord is certainly a character!
The Old Ram, Tivetshall 01379 676794
Serves food from 11am to 9pm every day. It is a very popular old coaching inn on the A140 - 15 minutes away. Can be extremely busy - best to book in advance. Child friendly. Extensive menu, including fresh fish from Lowestoft. A bit more expensive than your average pub.

Restaurant overlooking Fair Green in Diss. Wonderful for evening meals. We know Chris, the young chef and owner very well and we are never disappointed. Likes to use all fresh ingredients. Mid price range. Good wine selection.
Cornwallis Country Hotel, Brome 01379 870326
Lovely old country house hotel, lots of character and tables in the garden during the summer. AA Rosette restaurant, although much more atmosphere and good food served in the bar. 20 minutes drive.
There are many other restaurants that we can recommend, but they are ½ hour or more drive. Please contact us for details.
Breakfast - if you would like to go out for breakfast then try either Goodies Farm Shop on the A140 towards Long Stratton (also sells a good selection of bread, deli, fruit and veg) or the Old Ram Coaching Inn at Tivetshall.
